I was very excited when I got Andrew’s mail: he really signed me up for April’s edition of the food-photography contest “Does my blog look good in this?”! Who knows me, knows that I’m a huge fan of contests and challenges. I even play lotto from time to time (which is not really a challenge, I know). And tell you what, I’m quite a lucky person :-). But the nice thing about contests for me is not just winning (which is, of course, the best part of it :P), it’s to see which ideas everyone’s coming up with.

So, get your best ideas together and send in your entry for April’s “Does my blog look good in this” :-)!

But before I give you the details, instructions and guidelines of this contest, I’d shortly like to introduce you to my four wonderful colleagues for this month: Marija from Palachinka, Ash from Butterflyfoodie, Celine from Have cake will travel and Y from Lemonpi, will help me judging your pictures. I will tell you more about them later next week.

The rules are
• One food photograph entered per person
• The photograph must have been taken by you and must been text-free
• The photograph must have been posted on your blog in March
• The deadline to submit your entry is April 20th

A panel of judges (see above :-)) will assess the quality of all of your great entries before eventually selecting winners for the pictures, which will fall under the following categories:
• Aesthetics: meaning composition, food styling, lighting, focus, etc.
• Edibility: meaning “Does the photo make us want to die to try and eat the food?”
• Originality: the photograph that catches our attention and makes us want to say “Wow!” because it displays something we might not have seen before
• Overall Winner: the photograph encompasses all of the three previous categories: the best in Aesthetics, Edibility and Originality.

What do you have to do to join the event?
• Draft an e-mail with DMBLGiT in the subject line
• Attach one qualifying food or drink photo, preferably that is about 470px wide.
• Include the following:

- Your name.
- Your location.
- Your blog’s name and URL.
- The photograph that you wish to enter, of no more than 500 pixels wide.
- Your photograph’s title.
- URL of the post containing the photograph.
- Type of camera used, lens if you wish.

• Send the e-mail to me, gine: dmblgit [at] dolcifelici [dot] de before midnight on April 20th.

By submitting a photo, you agree to your picture being redisplayed and altered in size on the host’s page and on DMBLGIT page.

Only one entry per person is allowed.
Judges can’t enter the challenge.
